Our menu plans for this two weeks includes our Theme weeks for Latin Theme Week and Asian Theme Week.
So how did we do this week at meeting our goal of staying under $200 for 2 weeks dinners, the Week Starting 6/20/2016 and the Week Starting 6/27/2016?
Since we are buying food for our Asian Theme Week we took a trip to our local Asian supermarket. When we go there we were only planning to pick up a few specialty items but discovered several of our other items were actually cheaper there. As always we looked at the advertisements before we went and included several sale items in our menu. Some of these sale items were at stores that we don’t normally shop at. Fortunately, when we made our way through our normal stores we discovered these same items even cheaper than they were on sale for at the other stores. That was nice because it saved quite a bit of time shopping.
So this is how we ended up doing
$ 35.55 – Super Cao Nguyen
$ 22.36 – Sprouts
$117.45 – Crest
$157.86 – Grand Total
$ 42.14 – Under Budget
That works out to just under $3.95 per serving
Clearly there is no substitute for Meal Planning.
