Mom’s Lasagna

If Jaque has a specialty this would be it. It’s perfect every time. 

Serves 20

1 pound ground round beef
3/4 pound Italian sausage
8 cups Mozzarella
3 1/4 ounces cooked lasagna noodles
2 (32-ounce) jar Prego
32 ounces cottage cheese 
2 eggs
1 tablespoon basil
1 tablespoon oregano

Mix together cottage cheese, basil, oregano and eggs in one bowl. Brown the sausage and mix with the sauce when cooked. Using 2 9 × 13-inch pan, begin layering, starting with noodles, then cottage cheese and eggs mixture, then sauce and sausage mixture, then Mozzarella cheese. Repeat this layering, ending with Mozzarella cheese on top.

Bake at 350ºF, covered, for 30 minutes. Then continue baking 15 minutes uncovered.

Let stand 10 minutes before cutting.
