So tonight was copy cat night. On the #menu tonight was two of our #copycat #recipes one from Charleston’s and one from TGIFriday’s. Both are delish. Decadent! Decadent is all you can say about these. With heavy cream and real butter what else can you say. They are excellent and so tasty.
You may even recognize the taste of this recipe. It is a replica recipe I found someplace on the internet about a year ago. It claims to replicate a TGIFridays recipe. I haven’t had theirs if you have let me know how close it is.
We originally had a dish similar to this at Charleston’s restaurant years ago. Unfortunately, they have taken off of their menu. This is our attempt to replicate it. Continue reading “City Chicken”
What you need: Coarse salt, oil and a potato.
What you do: Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. Sprinkle a generous amount of salt into the skillet. Cut the potato in half so that it fits in the palm of your hand. Place the spud, flat side down, onto the pan and scrub, pretty vigorously, in a circular motion. Once the pan is clean, rinse with water and pat dry.
Almost there: To season, pour a small amount of oil into the skillet and spread evenly with a paper towel so that the whole thing is covered in a thin layer. Place the skillet in the preheated oven for one hour. Remove from the oven, wipe off any excess oil and you’re ready to go.
